Dee (Kayalar) Polat, PCC, MPA, MA is an experienced ICF trained and certified coach, offering personalized coaching services in the areas of professional development, career transition, personal growth, relationships, and emotional wellbeing. In addition to her own holistic coaching practice, Dee provides life and career coaching through Placement Holdings and works as a Career and Integration Coach at IMPACT Group where she offers integration assistance to help employees and their spouses/families settle into new cities faster, and assists spouses/partners with finding employment.
Previously, she served as the University of San Diego’s external coach, where she guided 1400+ alumni to identify their passions and create a plan to turn their passions into purposeful careers. Dee partners with professionals in career transition whether due to career growth, industry transition, job loss, or return to the workforce by using a one-size-fits-one approach that helps them achieve self-discovery and gain insight into their higher selves. Her expertise includes vocational discernment, job search strategy, career transition, asset reviews (resume, cover letter, LinkedIn profile), networking guidance, interview/negotiation coaching, and personal transformation.
Dee has 15 years’ experience across higher education career services, employer relations, alumni engagement, and nonprofit program management, in addition to serving as an adjunct instructor at Indiana University, Ivy Tech Community College, and as a research fellow at Max Planck Institute in Jena, Germany.
Dee is a Professional Certified Coach by the International Coaching Federation, a certified Gallup Strengths coach, and an MBTI practitioner with a coaching diploma from New York University, a Master's in Public Affairs from Indiana University Paul H. O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs in Bloomington, and a Master’s in Leadership Studies from the University of San Diego. Dee’s coaching style is holistic, intuitive, client-focused, and integrates her diverse background as a multicultural working mother who has successfully shifted careers across different industries and geographies. Dee currently lives in San Diego with her husband, two (almost three) children, and six pets.
